Brake advice requested-- Brake pads worn light came on this morning.

And let me tell you, it freaked me out as I was tearing down soaking wet I-45 when the mysterious "tie fighter" symbol beeped on. I eventually pulled over just to see what the hubub was about in the manual.
Anyway, I suppose I'm in the market for new brakes. I'd like them to be at least as good as the stocks without paying an arm and a leg for them. Any suggestions?
