Default Brilliant Black with clearcoat VS Raven Black pearl effect

I still haven't put my order in for my 225 TTR and have decided to go with black rather than Nimbus Gray. I'm just kinda stuck on which black is better. Any opinions? I just have a bunch of questions running throught my head like:
Which looks better? (I know this is a matter of opinion, but I'm clueless)
Which is the easiest to take care of?
Which shows the most wear after a while?
I haven't seen any black TTs in person, but I have seen a couple of pictures...and I have no idea which is which. So I really need your help. Thanks!

Default answer

some of your questions I can answer, some I cannot. Which looks better, that's up to you. If you go to your audi dealer they can give you the TT info which has a color chart in the back, it's not much but you can compare real paint to real paint. I went with raven so I might be a little biased. It just had more depth to it than BB, IMO. As for which is easier to care for, I can't say yet, the car hasn't arrived. I'm not worried too much about it, they are both black so I expect the worst when it comes to dirt visibility. Hopefully someone else can answer this better.

Default Brilliant black is beautiful.

I am really happy with my brilliant black clearcoat, but you have to keep it dusted to keep it looking impressively sharp and mirrorlike. The pearl effect ravens I have seen look softer, have a nice sheen that seems like it hides the dust better. But it doesn't look as impressive. imho<p>225QC Blk/Blk

Default Re: Brilliant Black with clearcoat VS Raven Black pearl effect

I've had the brilliant black coupe for a year now, and I really love it. Just another opinion, but I happen to like that color on this car because the shut lines and the grille and the window edges and such tend to disappear, making it look more like "all one piece".

On the other hand, this is my first black car and I really wasn't prepared for the attention required to keep it looking sharp. Since I have neither time nor desire to be a slave to detailing, I've just learned to accept the fact that two days after a wash job, it's going to start looking soulful again. Yeah, that's it....."soulful".

Whatever you choose, I hope you're happy with it!

Default I have a Brilliant Black Roadster

I had the same problem as you. My orginal choice was Raven until I decided after seeing it compared to a BB. The lines of the car seemed softer and almost looked matted in certain angles. The reason why people say that Raven is blacker is that it is not as reflective. I went for the BB because of the mirror effect after 5 applications of Zaino. I have only had my TT for 2 1/2 weeks and made sure that the dealer not prep the car so for now I have no scratches. I think that the care you give to your car will outway any great paint. Good luck in choosing the right black.

Default I have Raven Black Roadster...

I have found that the first day after I wash it, when the dust is just starting to appear, I can't really tell if it is dust or just the pearl effect. Since I live in the dustiest town in the West, perhaps someplace else it might be that way longer?

Default Thanks guys...

I think Brilliant Black sounds a bit more to my liking due to its reflective nature. Thanks for all your help.
