Broken Sway Bar (or Mounts?) . . .

I took my car to the dealer to have the LF Wheel Speed sensor repleced under warranty. I also wanted to have them lube the sway bar mounts to eliminate the creaking sound I have had for the past month. Apparently the sway bar or one of the mounts were broken. The service rep left a message on my machine that they had to order the sensor and a new sway bar. Needless to say, I was surprised to find the sway bar or mount was broken. I have only autocrossed my car twice, other than that, my car hasn't seen any severe action that would cause a breakage of this sort. Has anyone else had this happen?
The dealer goes all out for me every time I take my car in, I am driving an A6 3.0 loaner. It's a gas hog, but it is pretty nice.

the response I got was that this is a sprots car not a Mercedes S-Class, sports cars make some noises. However, the service rep did offer for me to bring my car back and take a service tech for a ride to pinpoint the noise. Either way, it is getting fixed now.
