Default buying new Audi TT

Hi guys,

I'm seriously considering purchasing a 3.2 DSG TT Coupe that has all common options (all but nav, and a few small others)and about 10k miles on the clock. What is considered to be a good deal on a car like this? Also, will the TT market take a downfall with the new TT just around the corner? Since this isn't a cheap car to start with, I'm concerned about the car's resale value.

Thanks in advance for all the input.

Default DSG resale probably okay, others have really taken a hit.

I've told dealers to go F themselves when they offered me 12 grand for a trade in.

Default I see it like this,

buying a TT is like buying Dodge Challenger during the muscle car days. Your not buying it for what it may be worth in monitary terms, your buying it because it's what you want. I just love the car, and while we have only owned it for a short time, it has only gotten better. I could have puchased almost anything, the TT is what I wanted. What do you want?

Default I side with Case B. I buy what I want and think I can be happy with for a long time.>>>

If, during the course of ownership, my view of the car changes due to quality/performance issues, I'll dump it and move on. This has not been the case with my TT. I went into it with a strong desire for the cars uniqueness, relative practicality and resonable performance and have only come to appreciate it more every day. I had minor electrical gremlins early on but then nothing since. I have 40K on the car and it is better than when I drove it off the lot. It is worth more to me than any dealer would ever give me on trade...as it should be. My $0.02 worth.

Hi guys,

First off, thanks for the feedback. I could not agree more with the comments regarding that the TT must be a car that you love. However, I still want to get a good deal and make sure my investment is secure. How much would you offer for this car? To repeat, it's got a bit over 10k miles and has premium package, premium Bose Sound, and the 18" 9-spoke wheels with performance tires as its options. Thanks for all the feedback!!

Default I bought mine new (500miles on ODO) @ $4K under sticker.>>>

Obviously not the same car as the one you are considering but on a relative basis it WAS the top of the line at the time...225QC with all the goodies less Nav. A couple things worked in my favor though...it was the last 2001 on the lot (Jan 02)...they just recieved a huge shipment of 2002 TT's and it was the last day of the month to book a sale. I could have bought a 2002 but they wanted that 2001 out of there...right place, right time, right price...SOLD!

Default I would check here for a ballpark figure...

Plug in the stuff and whether it is a certified pre-owned or private party. You can also try edmunds.com.

http://www.kbb.com/</a

With 10k on the clock, the biggest depreciation hit should be over.
