Default Bye Bye MAF 2, hello MAF 3 ...> Q for experts

So sitting at a light this morning the CEL comes on and I hook up VAG-COM to find out what triggered the light. Classic MAF failure.

That would mean that I'm going to be on my third MAF in less than 5000 miles. If I hadn't been paying attention during statistics in school, I'd almost become paranoid....

I seem to remember discussion a year or two ago about putting a VW MAF in with great results but less money out of my pocket.

Is the VW part # 06A906461A the right one for a '01 TTQC with AMU engine or is there an updated part number available? Thanks for the help.

Andy

Default That's the VW part...it'll work, but.......>>

Sure it's the MAF failing? Block 32 reading?

A lean fault could also be a Vacuum leak..(a small one in this case..)

and/or try cleaning the MAF to see if that will buy you some more mileage.
