Calling all 225's with H&R coilovers... did they come with any instructions
of any kind?
Mine didn't come with anything! Just a warranty card and a catalog for spacers.
If they did come with instructions... want to scan them or send them to me?
thanks!

YUP! Thats it for me too>>>
Every H&R product I've got so far comes with an advertisement for more of their products or a warning card about how you should not put what you just bought on your car.
The installation of the coils is very similar to any other suspension install you will find on the web. My photo gallery probably has some shots of them on my car, but the installation itself was a swap from KW to H&R for me so I did it in about two hours, no photos sorry.
1. The few tips I have are buy/borrow that spreader tool.
2. Put in new bushings/bearings once your in there (sure you knew that already).
3. On my car I don't have the height adjusters in the rear & I still want my rear to be lower, I don't believe this effects the ride quality, just the height.
4. Against all advice I removed the metal stock spring hats and used the plastic spring hat's that came on the H&R coilovers (Front only) because they fit the front springs MUCH better and seated the front upper bearings perfectly as well!
5. OH YEA! Do use the rear "helper springs" kind of forgot that one, I attempted to remove these to go lower (after the initial instal) and the H&R rear spring is so small it won't even stay between the frame & control arm.
If your wondering (for reference to height settings) my car has 25mm spacers on all four wheels and as I said no adjusters in the back and about I think 1 1/4" to go down in the front exactly (this will reflect in my signature picture). I don't rub at all, pretty much never, you have to be REALLY getting on the car hard through a turn with a bump in it then I will rub one front wheel (the lower one, dependent on side of the turn). I've really been meaning to buy new front spacers (the correct size!) and slam the car back down in the front, I love the look!
On the install you can follow any write-up on here. I didn't follow one in-particular, I've done a bunch of coilover installs before and they are all pretty straight forward. On our cars the only tricks/learning finesse would be removing the front strut from the wheel hub & on the rear strut install lining up the wheel hub, sway bar link, and strut> getting the bolt in without stripping out the rear hub (I did this once : ) on my car).
BUT don't you have a HELPING HAND in the house already that knows what he's doin? : ) Goodluck!

Thanks!
It should be a pretty easy install since she has eibachs on there right now. We've got the strut spreader and upper strut tool from metalnerd. Have the bushings from purems to replace some crap ones from ecs
Only thing we're not entirely sure on was orientation of the rear springs and perch and any indexing that may be necessary. Also, it seems like this kit is newer than yours. The spring hat for the front seems to be anodized metal and there are no rear helper springs for the back.

Sorry if I just forced you into the garage from the couch! lol>>
I like the garage more anyway.
On my car I believe I oriented the rear springs words facing up so you can read them. Just the other day I took pictures of a BMW 2002 and for the life of me can't find my camera or else I would go get some pictures. I'm going to jump in the garage and take a check on the springs in the rear - be right back.
Maybe I should grab a new kit it sounds like... Do you have a few pictures of all the components? I'd really like to see what they changed the rear springs too. Also I L-O-V-E her 7-spoke wheels and can't wait to see what it looks like dropped on H&R's since I was debating ripping off her styleeeee : )

I don't recall any instructions either...
It has been a while since I put mine in, but I remember the lack of the spreader being an issue, but not as big as control arm bushing removal for KMAC install.
Be careful not to strip the lower shock bolt on the rear, and get the front struts completely seated in the socket.
Adjustable rear perch goes on the top, and the end of the coil on the bottom of the rear spring (cute little thing) should index against a little rubber bump that sticks out of the factory plate that stays on the bottom.
Of course, don't forget to disconnect the HID levelers. Have fun.

Yea, Rear: Words facing up & helper springs on the bottom>
I remember everything fitting really snug when I put it together. The spring grabs onto the rubber hat on the top & bottom. I've always hated these "helper springs" never really thought highly of them. I understand there purpose but I just would prefer a longer spring. I love H&R and find that their products do amazing things to every car I have put them on so there must be a formula behind the madness.
I went from KW w/ H&R rear sway to H&R coils w/ the same rear sway. They stiffened up the ride so much compared to the KW's that nothing felt right so I got the H&R front bar, set them both to stiff and it was great. Then I got Defcon 1 and it just doesn't feel right yet. I've had an alignment since I last posted about this but I really need to get some good summer tires. This all season bull- just won't cut it!
Let me know what you guys think & share pictures when your all done! What coils are you running John?

heh nope, have the parts sitting in the office :)
Here's a pic from tcarbon's website that shows the latest spring setup. No helper springs and it looks like there's an extra coil on the rear compared to the last version.

Thanks for checking
Spent all day trying to get mine aligned, hasn't felt right lately getting closer to ideal but have a bunch of bushings to install front and back. I'm still on Bilstein Sports with Eibachs but will be very interested in how the H&Rs turn out
