Default Calling on all suspension experts

My TT is on its third sway bar

The symptoms are like this: When going over speed humps and dips the car makes a "creaking" and "thunk" sound.

Both times it has been caused by a cracked ball joint on the sway bar.

My question to you is if my alignment is on the boarder line of the specification set by Audi could this cause excessive strain on my sway bar and therefore cause the cracking.

My dealer can just get my alignment within the spec. All is stock on the car. This suggest something is a miss.

The ball joint has cracked twice in 6 months.

Any ideas?

Default All i can say is that's very unusual, sorry to hear :( could it possibly be .... >>

that since you don't have aftermarket springs, the stock ones are bouncing around more than aftmrk. ones would, thus putting more strain on your swaybar, and thus causing these problems ? Don't take what i say seriously, i don't know the technical issues at play, simply throwing ideas here

Default Do you mean the sway bar link is breaking? There is no "ball joint" per se

on a sway bar.. The links would be the weakest items.. How are your struts/springs? Excessive travel?

I am going by what the service guys are telling me. I'll have to investigate further.
