Can anyone tell me what the Forge "Rally Blowoff Valve" does vs the "normal" Forge DV?

You DV (bypass valve) vents boost in a closed loop system. This Dump valve (blowoff) vents excess boost to the atmoshpere.
Dump valves are common in turbocharged Asian imports. I think they get off on the noise the dump valve creates when venting boost. This is bad in the Audi because you are dumping air that has been metered by the map sensor and this could cause you to run in a rich condition.
I or others could probably go into it further, I have a Bosch Fundementals of Fuel Management management guide that dicusses the Motronic system in details.
The only real need for a dump valve is the asian import sound.
Hope this helps.

...the reason for the "blowoff" valve. Most certainly it's something that I do not want/need. Appreciate the info.

I would venture to say that most people that purchased their Forge valve are ahppy with it, so I cant for the life of me can understand why Pete would ruin his good companies name by selling such an item, Is the short term sale of a few *Rally* BOV's worth all of his business in the *piston type*???? Would he want to hand it over on a silver platter to Bailey? cause surely if someone knowingly sold something that didn't work, than what is the reason for bringing it to market?
I am so confused....

...and he hasn't rec'd it yet. I was on VW Vortex a day or so ago and a few guys in the 1.8T Forum over there were talking about them. Didn't sound like they were totally thrilled with the results. I'm very pleased with my Bailey and have no desire to screw with my properly running A4.
