But I understand it's rated to about 258 lb-ft -- the 3.2l's rated output is 236 lb-ft, so there's a small amount of headroom, but not as much as you suggest.
I'll poke around some more with the DQ450 number, which I've never seen before -- but I would love confirmation.

DQ250 = 250 Nm = 184.4 ft-lbs
DQ450 = 350 Nm = 331.9 ft-lbs
These conversion from <a href="http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter">this website</a>, click on Energy on the left then select your units..
Are you sure we don't have the DQ350, meaning 350 Nm which is about 258 ft-lbs?
That sounds more in-line with what the torque on the 3.2 TT's is..
