Can a rear facing infant seat fit in the rear seat of a coupe?

Not if you want anyone in the passenger seat, no.
If you fold the passenger seat forward it will fit. You'll have to put the kid in from the trunk though :-)
I use a rear-facing seat in the front of mine (airbag off). It converts to a front-facing when my girl turns 1 (in about two months) and then it will fit in the back - I've already tried it.

I tried that once. Funny story...
I tried putting my daughter into the rear seat through the hatch lid. I did this in the parking lot of a large grocery store. It got me some concerned looks from passers-by :-)
