Default My money is on bad MAF. Daughter's car would hardly run w/MAF plugged in, just like yours...

ran fine with MAF unplugged. Then fine again when we replaced the MAF.

Default Yeah, it'll get new coilpacks too

The ones we put in are for my car and aren't an easy swap into the BEA.

It'd be nice to have a BEA MAF to toss in too but all we've got is an AMU. Need more spares

Default heh... I think we are getting some wires crossed....

read blackfntrucks post. I read that as he thought the maf was ok and somehow unplugging it made the bad coilpacks work..

which made no sense to me.

I know it's because the maf is toast... he had me a bit confused though

Default Ha ha!...Bob sounds confused, but he's from PA...:-)

and it's cold there now. Low fuel(from Bad MAF) will get you misfires. Unplugging it and going with default maps results in no misfires cause there's plenty of fuel to ignite..(am I getting the symptoms correct??)

Default yes :) So is it ok to drive it around with the maf unplugged then?

or is that a really really bad idea?

Default Sure...That's not a problem...>>

These Audi's are smart enough to know that these parts would fark up, so they built in default maps which they will run fine on!

Heck, half the kids on Vortex are running with their MAF's disconnected!
