Default Catalytic converter right behind turbo?

<center><img src="https://secure7.nexternal.com/achtuning1/images/stage_iii_long1.jpg"></center><p>I've been doin some research on the TT, and found a APR turbo kit, which had the cat nearly connected to the turbo.

If so, doesn't that restrict flow? Would that cause the turbo to overheat with all the heat coming from the cat? Also, is there any high flow cats you can buy, and/or a turbo back exhaust that incorporates the cat in a farther back position?

That is a high flow cat, did you read APR's description? And 1.8T's cats are connected to the turbo

Default If you have the 225, you will have to go custom...

I have a custom 3" tb system: 3' single dp to a 3" HJS racing cat, to a custom made 3" exhaust and muffler.

Here's my cat (see the flanges? easily swapped out for my test pipe)
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/24538/car_mods_019.jpg">

The test pipe:

I don't worry about a CEL with the test pipe or the cat, as my rear O2 sensor has been programmed out.

Here's the dp. It's a real tight fit, you can see wheren I pounded the heat shield (also need some triming). You'll also need stiffer engine mounts, as the oem allow the engine to rock too much. If you don't, everytime you mash on the throttle, the dp will hit the heat shield.

My exhaust (this is a shot from ZGTT's car. The same guy custom made our exhausts - he also does Champion Racing's S4 exhaust)

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/30768/installedwflange.jpg">

This is the only pic of my exhaust tips.(excuse the car carrier, this was taken right before my trip to the West side)

Everything is mandrel bent and flanged.

If you have the 180, there's a bunch of tb you can go with, as they are the same for many VW applications.

Default I used it's center piece (since it was 3"), and had the shop make the muffler...

I then welded the two together. That way I didn't have to pay for a new resonator.

I still have the UUC tips sitting in my garage. So, if someone wanted to make a UUCish system, all they'll need is the center pipe, resonator, and a y adapter. It doesn't really matter what size center pipe you want 2.5 - 3", cause it would be custom fabbed with the UUC tips welded on.

I priced out similar tips and they are like $100 a pc. But, of course, I'd sell them real cheap.

Default what you are looking at is the stage 3 for the Long motor, not the transverse.....

The transverse motor has the bat under the car, approx under the shifter.
