Default CD Changer panel central locking pin

I opened my CD changer door (behind drivers seat) on my 2005 TT Roadster and saw a steel pin sticking down. This is part of the anti-theft locking mechanism that is activated when the car is locked. The pin is fully extended into the cd changer compartment. I cannot reinstall the panel without bending the pin but I can feel the locking motor hitting the pin when lock the car using the remote fob. If I remove the rear panels, can I repair this pin? Reattach to the locking motor?
