Default Central Locking Issues VAG-COM scan inside

2000 Audi TT FWD engine code AWP

It has a number of electrical issues, but trying to tackle one at a time. Currently trying to diagnose the central locking system. Next will be the dying instrument cluster...

Symptoms:
1) doors will not lock from inside the car - not by using the door lock button, or after reaching 15mph

2) doors will not lock/unlock with the keyfob - must use the key-in-door to lock/unlock both doors

3) (i believe this is related to the electrical components in the pass. door latch) pass. window will not move up/down 1/8" to create a seal; driver's window does

Here is what my scan revealed. I believe it is all related to the central locking module and trying to determine if there is a way to fix it without replacing the part. Also, wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and how it was resolved. Dug a bit online to see what this part would cost to replace, but can't seem to find this part for sale online and would rather not get ripped off by a dealer, so any help with where to find the part for a good price would be great.

On with the codes:

..ok so further searching by part no. 8N8 962 267 A - rather than "central locking module", or some variation of that, has produced some results; however, still curious to see if there is a way to get this repaired or some recoding that may be able to be done with VAG-COM to fix this.

Also, if I do purchase a replacement, what is involved in the "after-installation coding process", or is that even necessary? I have read about ppl paying a dealer $200+ to recode it. I think it will have issues with the keyfob otherwise.

Thanks for looking.

Blah..

spoke too soon. the ONE that I found was a version "E" instead of the version "A" that is currently in the car. Are they interchangable?
