Default Central Locking Module replaced yesterday... light/lock bug... some q's...

Those of you with the light/lock bug, if you find yourself locked in after the lock/start car/no interior lights sequence what gets the car unlocked? Are you stuck inside unless you use the key fob to get out, or do two pulls of the inside handle unlock the door?

I ask because I can't remember what the exact situation was before they replaced the module... now, the second of two pulls unlocks the door... but I still have the light problem. I can live with that... but being locked in I cannot accept, and it seems to be fixed. My tech is aware of the grounding issue, and he tested the ground per the Audi hotline's instructions, and found no grounding problems. Thus, they replaced the whole module.

So, can someone tell me if the lock bug traps them in the car or if the double-pull opens the door?

Default Process to replicate lock light bug and door handle question...

Get in car. Close door. Lock car from switch in center console. Insert key start car.

The interior light stays on overhead and the doo lock button does not work.

Two pulls on the interior door handle ALWAYS unlocks then opens the door of a VW/Audi product. Am I to understand that yours wouldn't open like this? That sounds like a real safety issue to me. Heck, even being trapped in my own car when I pass gas would be a safety issue!

Default no, it doesn't trap me...

two pulls and I'm out. I just wanted to make sure that everyone else had the same deal.

BUT: as soon as I lock with the console button, my interior lights still fade off. After starting, they cannot be turned on manually. They've never stuck on. Center button still won't work for unlock.

I had mine fixed this week when I went in for my 5k service. I brought a
printout of the problem/solution info with me (which I believe I found on
auditt.org). They added a ground to the central locking unit and it is fine
now. It took about an hour and a half on top of the service time.

Two pulls of the door handle get you out...

Default Hmmm, slightly different (roadster difference?)

On my coupe, the same order:

1) Enter car
2) Lock doors
3) Start car

Would not leave the light on but rather no interior lights would work at that point (not the dome light, either map light or the visor lights), and the unlock button would not work.

The only way out was the double pull of the handle...
