Default changing from a 180hp 5spd to a 225hp 6spd

I have a 2000 tt quattro coupe with the 180hp engine and the 5spd trans. I would love to get a 6spd trans for that extra gear and the 225hp seems like it would be nice also. I think that the engines are the same except for the turbo and the piston compression ratio. How hard would it be to swap in the 225hp and the 6spd? What extras(computer, drive shafts, etc?) would i need? Has anyone here done this before. It doesnt seem like it would be a new idea. Thanks, Mike
Also, i am going to have to replace the shocks here in the near future and was wanting some recommendations. thanks

The transmission is an easy swap.

The engine is harder because of the extra stuff you would need.Twin Intercoolers /exhaust/ ECU. A lot of stuff switches sides.

Best way would be to pickup a wrecked TT 225.

Easier to modify a 180 . With a chip you can go to 215 hp.

With a bit more money you could easily surpass the 225hp.

The 225bhp engines have some internal differences and some stronger parts supposedly. And as mentioned, the twin intercoolers would be a difficult install. Chips in yours for more power would be easiest, or just sell it and get a 225.

You'll also need the 02M axles as well.
