Default Check engine help!

Hi. I had my tires rotated, and after a few miles. check engine lights up.. Is there something wrong with the engine? And also I just had my car scheduled maintenance serviced done last week. Thanks

Default Wild a$$ guess

Maybe.

Get the code read. A lot of auto parts stores will read it for free.
There are about 300 reasons why that light comes on, none of them to do with tires.

Yup check the codes first. Why not take it back where the work was done so they can inspect it ?

If they cant or wont do it (or if they want to charge you for it) take it to an auto parts place, most will scan it for free. There are some codes that a generic OBD scanner will not read, if that's the case, you will need to find someone with VAG COM software or take it to a dealer or a shop that specializes in VW/Audi

Sure. Chances are, what ever caused it is still there.

that's one way to clear the code but if the problem is still there, the light will come back on eventually.
