I forget...225 or 180?........>>
If 225 get the Audi remanufactured one. Only $69 at ECS. Overall performance is better matched than the VW one. You need the element anyway, especially if you go for a BAMM/**** which is the housing only..

Steve if my over oiling did screw it up then wouldnt the next maf get screwed up too?
then I guess i should get a new K&N filter too???

Did you clean it per the instructions?
That came with the kit? If it's pretty red you probably used too much. Might wanna try again. After cleaning the filter will be a whiteish gray. Take light, quick sprays down the pleats as you rotate the filter until it is a light pink color...
