So here's the deal:
I bought a used 2002 Quattro from a Chevy dealer friend of mine 2 years ago. It had 15K on it. Now I am at 50K and I want to chip it.
But here's the problem... When I bought it the exhaust and intake had been modified / replaced. Logic would dictate that there's a chance this owner chipped it as well.
How do I find out? Someone told me "Easy, just pull the ECU and check it." Sounds easy, but where is the ECU and how do I check it?
The car's quick, but I think it can go faster.
Thanks

with the ignition on, hold down the cruise
set button for 5s and see if the CEL flashes.
If so, you're APR chipped. Keep holding it
down and see how many sets of flashes you get
(1 per second, 2 per second, up to 4/second).

and thats where mine stops... I also bought my car used and was planning on chipping it as soon as the warranty ran out in a few months. It would really suck if it already was chipped.

Thanks everyone, for the quick response. I'll do the "cruise set" method first, Then Jeff's way and just for kicks I'll go to ElMirage dry lake and do a top speed run.
