Claybar leaves streaks - what am I doing wrong???

I agree...The only reason I like the Griots clay is the holder dealy...I can get it done quicker.

Default Re: sounds like clay bar was too soft.. were you claying in the sun?

I was claying my TT 2 weeks ago in the sun and I noticed streaks when it got on towards noon and the sun was beating down on the TT making the car surface hot. I moved into the garrage and it was fine after a bit of cooling off.

Default Not wet enough

The only way I can get claybar to work for me is to drench the area I'm working on and then get in there quickly with the claybar. I've tried the spray bottle lubricant approach and it just doesn't work.

The downside is that you'll have to keep adjusting the clay, as it can get too wet.

Default I've heard that this diminishes with age. However, there are commercial substitutes available...

I believe that Mothers, Zymol and others may have automotive cleaner/lubricants which can assist with claybar usage. I know that the older I get, the more apt I am to go to the auto parts shop and purchase one of these products!
