Default Cleaning the black stuff from wheels?

Anyone have any tips for cleaning the black stuff which gets on the wheels? My front wheels are especially difficult. I'm hoping that there is some miracle product out there which will make this easy.

Thanks

Soap and water. Try new brake pads to eliminate most of it.

Default P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel is as close to a miracle cleaner you'll find. It works great...

Someone on here recommended it to me a few years back and that's all I've used ever since. A little bit goes a long way.

Lot's of places carry it...<ul><li><a href="http://www.properautocare.com/p2wheelclean.html">linky...</a></li></ul>

Default Clean wheels when they are cool, regular car soap works, do not use 'strong' detergents. Use a

cleaner/wax on the wheel once you get it clean, and it will then clean up easier. Clean the wheels often. JIM

Default Clay bar!!

I detailed a buddy's BMW this weekend. His wheels were caked in black tar....soap and water would not budge it. I spent about 45 minutes on each wheel with a clay bar - rubbing and rubbing - and it finally came off, then I put a nice coat of wheel wax on....they look brand new.

If it is the baked on stuff, then clay. Throw it away when done.

Make sure your wheels are cold. It ate the clear coat of a hot wheel. Damn.

Default I use a cellulose (kitchen) sponge and regular car wash with some Klasse all-in-one splashed in

the bucket. It gets all but the most stubborn, and smallest spots.
