I didn't use any heat to get apart my head lights just some small screw drivers to scrape out some of the glue. Also had to use the screw driver to apply a small amount of pressure to pry apart the spots that were a bit extra stuck. Was really straight forward.

helps to use a heat gun and a putty knife...comes out real easy!

I have heard of people putting the whole assemble in the stove...about 225 degrees for about 10 -15 minutes. I can see a heat gun working just fine though.
