Default Click/clunk sound when turning the wheel at very slow/stopped speeds coming from the front...

What could it be, when I am parking I hear it pretty loud, only happens then, then again I am not cranking the wheel that card when driving faster. It sounds like a loud clunk/click and happens about 2 times if turning the wheel completly in one direction. Wondering what this might be. My mechanic a while back heard it and did not think it was much of anything, but it just makes me a little nervous

I believe it's the front sway. Really common on early TTs like ours. Mine, too.

Definitely the front sway bar...mine did exactly that, replaced it, and is fine. Expensive part OEM

is this a dangerous thing or what? How much? Aftermarket options? How hard to install?

Default I doubt its the sway bar...

I have my car in the shop for this very thing as we speak. I'm an 95% positive it is the ball joints or tie rod ends.

So far the dealer has replaced: brake rotors (not sure why)
sway bar (wasn't the problem since I had just installed new poly bushings)
steering rack (I doubt that was the issue)

They just called as I was typing this to tell me its ready. I guess I'll just have to see what all they replaced. I'll keep you posted.

The dealer blamed it on the H&Rs/Bilsteins. That's BS b/c stock suspenions also have it.
