Default Clunking from front

<center><img src="http://www.fuhkenmovenracing.com/jasonvr6/complete-left.jpg"></center><p>This is my brothers Engine, just for fun. Now, the TT problem
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Just cruising home yesterday I noticed a clunking started happening when I let off the gas. At highway speeds the car just felt like it was shimmying ever-so lightly. I thought it might be a tire with a bad belt or had thrown a weight, but the clunking got worse and worse. I pulled over and visually inspected everything. Thought maybe a splash shield had come undone and was flapping under the car. So I go to pull back onto the highway and notice at slow speeds the wheel pulls to the right on every rotation. No I'm thinking either bearing or CV joint. By the time I nurse the car another 5 miles home, it has gotten much much worse. I started to hear a metal screeching noise when the car turned slightly in one direction. At very slow speeds you can actually hear the crunching grinding awful metal sound. My guess is CV joint, any other suggestions?

The car has 32k on it and just had a clutch installed. Do you think that the dealer will cover this problem? I have Coilovers, DV, and an Intake on the car. I can put the intake and DV back to stock.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Oh, and check this out for more pics about my brother's setup:

Default Dealer did something wrong...>

I was thinking loose subframe until you got to the grinding part. CV joint, subframe movement, or both...

Default Take it back to where you had the clutch done.>>

Never had a CV joint just up and fail without any warning. My first (blind)guess would be that something fell apart because it wasn't reinstalled correctly during the clutch job.

ive "heard" that if a wheel is slightly loose then that is the sound that car will make

Default Do you think the subframe would have affected the CV joint?

Or, do you think the subframe would cause the steering to jerk?

Default To be fair, I have not been the easiest on this car, but

I dont think I have been too hard on it. Have only done 2 donut sessions on Revo, and they were not that long. Maybe 10minutes total between both. I know Donuts are very hard on CV joints, but I have had FWD cars and never had a CV joint go out with only 30k on them.

No spacers, and wheels don't stay "loose" for long.

Default If you're going forward, then that's a good bet on the CV joint >>>

In my first TT, my major clunking was in reverse and turning the wheel to the right. Obviously, it wasn't the CV then.

Have the dealer replace the joint for you. : )
