Aoa called regarding the letter I sent to them last week.
After the usual party line about how they have not issued a recall or service notice on A/S4 or TT gauge clusters and MFDs _in the United States_, the rep I spoke with admitted that there has been a high failure rate, and that "the government" sometimes steps in to get Audi to replace endemic safety-related failures like these.
So tomorrow, it's off to Brian Harris to get the Service Manager's advice on this. Apparently his say-so goes. They noted the failed cluster when we had our A/C replaced early in the summer, so maybe we'll get a break.
If you're out of warranty or had multiple cluster failures, it's worth a shot at sending the letter. I hope we'll be treated fairly.

Link to the complaint letter thread and template.

...saving receipts for repairs if you've already had a cluster replaced outside of warranty. I think this is significant; sorry for not stating this in my previous post.
This seems to imply that the could be subject to or considering a voluntary recall program. I think that posing this as a safety issue might be helping our cause.

about the issue rather than venting your anger and misery on here.
I hope Audi US take off their blinkers and open there eyes to this issue, and everybody gets the full refund they deserve.
