Default AMU >>>

It took me 30 minutes to do a complete plug swap yesterday on an AMU. It would only take 10 minutes to swap a single coilpack. Faster if it was #1 or #2.

Default Hmm... bummer. Guess ATC == easier to work on...

Will have to check pics of AMU engines more closely to see what that's all about.

Guess you're faster than me, or maybe it was the beer.

Default It only took me 45 minutes to change my AMU's plugs. And that was my first time.

I'll grant you that there's not a lot of room to work, but I didn't think it was that bad at all.

Oh, but the backs of my knees were starting to ache a bit.

Default Still, at $339 for a coil pack and an oil change, he ought to be getting "kissed" ...

when the stealership is done!

Default you got hosed by the dealer..

varies from one dealer to the next. My dealer wanted 40 bucks just to change the parking light bulb. Sorry to hear you forked out that much when it could be a DIY job.

Kissed? He should be getting a reach-around.

Default It helps to have done it before.

It is one of the more time-consuming plug changes I've done though. Having the right tools handy helps, beer probably doesn't.

Default it takes me 5 minutes to gather up my tools...

and about 15 minutes to swap out a coilpack...#1 and #2 are easiest, but #3 and #4, there's more to get out of the way. minimal tool set though and its pretty easy.

it was the #4 which is the hardest to get to.
