Default Computer Question: Does a CD burner affect the sound quality of MP3 files?

Does burning MP3 files on a more expensive burner give you better sound quality and vice versa? Or does it not really make any difference.

Default I haven't found a difference from burner to burner, but have seen a difference

from burning at higher speeds vs. lower speeds on burning CDA. The slower the better.

Default the sampling rate of the MP3 file is what determines the quality...

when the you 'rip' an mp3 from a CD, the sampling rate can usually be adjusted in the software settings. 128kbps is the minimal acceptable level for CD quality audio. it's not unusual to find MP3's with higher sampling rates, i.e. 160kbps, 192kbps. the higher the sampling rate, the better the quality...but that also makes the files larger and you won't fit as many on a CD or on your MP3 player.

I don't think a 'better' CD-R drive will make better CDs...it will just burn CDs more quickly and the drive will probably last a lot longer.

Default except 256kbps is not what MP3's are about. They are all about low quality and small files

so you can cram as many songs onto a CD or into an MP3 player.
