Default Confused.. body shop said they'd pay my deductible?

He asked me if I had rental car insurance, I said nope, and he said they'd either provide me with a rental car or I wouldn't have to pay them my deductible? Now my deductible is only $250 but this made me feel a little like I'm scamming someone, somehow.. is this normal? It'd be nice to not have to pay my $250 (I can use my mom's car instead of a rental) but I don't want to be braking any laws or anything..

Is this on the up and up?

Default whats confusing? they're giving you a deal

all a deduct is, is something the insurance company won't pay. In other words, your responsibility.

So, unless your body shop did the estimate and changed it to get more money in EXCHANGE for paying your deduct, then you're OK.

Insurance companies (decent ones anyway) will pay for the estimate if they think its reasonable. How you handle the deduct is up to you.

Default Yeah well, i dont know if your situation is normal, and im not an expert...but...

i just know that its when you claim to have more damage than you do that insurance companies get--rightly--upset.

Sounds like you got a good shop IF the work is OK.

If so you should tell other Audi owners in your area so they get rewarded for being decent to you.

Mine did that too. That means they made some good money off the insurance...

Default cool, they never did an estimate since they're affiliated with state farm

so I guess State Farm 'trusts' them to do the estimate fairly.. oh well, guess that's between them and state farm, not little ol' me.
