Default 'CONNECT' displayed on Bose head unit

I started my car yesterday and had the word CONNECT displayed. The radio would not work. I turned the car off then back on, BOSE came on and then all worked fine. What was this all about?

Default If you turn the radio on too soon, you'll get this message. Start the car first, then turn on the

radio.

You don't have to restart the car to get rid of "CONNECT", just turn off the radio, wait, then turn it on again.
