Convertible top motor seems weak
Does anyone have any previous experience with their convertible top motor getting a little "slow"? I have a 2002, and granted it's 9 years old, so I ssume something is wearing out...The stealership quoted me $1,700 to fix it, but I was wondering if anyone out there might have some advice as to what the problem could be...is it more likely a hydraulic problem, or is it just time to get a new motor? Any insight you can share is helpful!
Thanks

Slow top
The problem is that you are getting air in the hydraulics. The o rings and seals in the system have aged are not providing a 100% seal. There are very few people that have worked this as a DIY but it can be done. Try a search in this site and see if you have any luck. Before this got taken over, there was an excellent WIKI, but I think the new format has put the kabosh on that.
Good luck.
Good luck.
