Default Coolant sensor replaced--check engine light on again...

I just had the coolant temp sensor replaced last Wednesday on my TT because the check engine light was on. The mechanic scanned for codes and then cleared it. The check engine light stayed off until yesterday. Well, it's back on again.

Anyone have a sensor go out on your TT?

It really affects the performance of the car. Makes the engine sluggish and sometimes difficult to start.

Has anyone NOT had a CEL? Get the DTC(s), someone might have an idea for you.

Default re: difficult to start, I had to crank mine several times....

before it would start. It took a new fuel relay to fix the problem....now it starts first time, every time. But there is hesitation until it gets up to operating temperature, so I plan to replace the coolant sensor, once I find the right part....the 180 sensor is different than the 225. But never a CEL.

They replaced the coolant sensor on mine.. but the fan housing was the actual culprit!

Sounds like it could be a faulty coil, but I am not sure...
