So after my last post, I headed on home to get a few shuteyes, and noticed I was very low on gas. So I pulled on into a Texaco, and I saw two cops standing around, (it was 4 am BTW), flashlights, generally looking totally goofy and clueless.
So I pull on in by the pump, and whatever they were doing, well, it wasn't important anymore coz they both were now flashing their lights on my car with this jaw dropped expression on their faces.
They were staring, so as I got out, I politely greeted them, and they sheepishly went on with what ever they were doing.
Apparently someone had burgled the store by the gas station, but to hell with the store, there was a TT in the lot.
So the cops slowly, in the pretext of searching for the perp, moseyed on over to my car, and it was obvious they were hoping I wasn't a total butt and would talk a bit. So I did.
And then they started their search routine, except that they were admiring the car. Flashlight went inside, then out, then under, then out the other side.
Then in a thick Texas accent, "Is this an aawwdhee? What kinda aawwdhee izzat?"
Needless to say, I was rather amused by their whole reaction, and their apparent disregard to the crime at the store. They spent so much time looking at my car that even if there was a perp around, he had enough time to get out.
I must add these two were a pair made in the movies, each one seemed to have something lacking that the other one was meant to compensate for, but couldn't, something like larry, curly and moe, or laurel and hardy.
Anyhow, I drove off, and they stood there, flashlights pointing at me, and I saw them disappear in my rear view mirror, still standing there dazed, like an angel had come down and touched them.
