this didn't happen to me, but a friend of mine. Went for an oil change, on the drive home heard a loud noise so he stopped... etc. etc. etc.. brought his car to a different garage and they said who ever changed the oil didn't put the plug back in all the way so it was leaking oil. The garage also tells him the noise he heard was the head basically killing it self. Now does having the drain plug loose, loosing compression (since the engine is no longer sealed), is that a cause for the head to go??

enough to circulate thru the entire engine efficiently, he could have easily thrashed the head, pistons, and crank! Always hard to tell on these things....
