Default a couple problems in the SNOW.

so it's been snowing in NYC for a couple days...i'm having some problems.

A. the car is TOO LOW! i'm running Neuspeed springs....1.3 and 1.4 inch drop....and i'm scraping every little pile of snow.....now that i'm street parking in brooklyn, the snow plows push the snow up against the car, and i basically have to power the car out of it...which i'm able to do, but not without a fight. terrible....terrible...

B. ever since i had a completel suspension overhaul, i've been knocking my alignment out of spec every 2 months or so...is there any solution to this? when the car is out of alignment, it is MUCH harder to control on snowy/icy streets....

i don't run snow tires, because i have NOWHERE to store extra sets of rims and tires....but the all-seasons are NOT the problem here. I used to live in Chicago and Detroit-----two places with extreme snowfall, and all seasons were always great. My Nero Zeros do have traction...i did some swerving on an open icy street yesterday with no problem and full control. the problems are arising on STRAIGHT roads with elevated snow....i'm not sure whether i should brave it out through the winter, or do something about it. I guess there's no real solution aside from alignments and new higher springs.....and i'm not planning on getting new springs....so i'm screwed for the winter i guess.

*sigh*

Move South? No other advice, but this is decent "gratuitous" advice!

Default it's unfortunate...because i love the snow...and love driving in snow...

but this is my first winter with a 'lowered' TT....and i'm finding myself missing the 'higher' TT.

Default if you need an alignment every two months....try >>>

raising your tire pressures a bit....it may help a bit with the impacts that are basically bending your suspension....

Might be time to get a beater

Default raising pressure in the winter too?

i always kept it a bit lower in the winter...

i know. might be beater time. but with 92000 all season miles on the TT....i almost feel bad relegating it to weekend car....and also, i'd have to street park the 2nd beater....and move the car every day to avoid tickets from alternate side parking rules here in brooklyn. argh.

This is one of the reasons why I didn't lower my car

Default yes>>>>

as it lightens the impact on the rim and suspension and the tire absorbs some of the impact....

In snow, you want a narrow/tall tire for best performance....

I run my 18's at 38 psi....if you are running 17's, you can run 36 or 37 psi....give it a try
