Default courtesy car question

is it true that if you did not purchase or lease from a dealer, they don't have to offer you a courtesy car during service?

Default They don't have to give you a loaner even if you bought the car from them.

It's totally up to the dealer. I think Audi may require them to provide alternate transportation, but that can be a shuttle to/from work. Luckily, my dealer provides a loaner even though I didn't buy the car from them even if it's usually a 2.sloooowww Jetta.

Default The courtesy car is an "perk" or using one dealer over another..

My dealer goes through Enterprise Rentacar so it is a "crap" shoot on what I get.

I know of dealers who are hungry for business and will offer the car to people who bring over their car for service. It is all in the hopes of a repeat purchase.

Default They never are required to give you one. They MAY, but are not under any obligation by Audi....

....regardless where the car was purchased.

I get one (for now, under warranty only) because I made a (rather unpleasant) scene. But at 4 yrs, I will have to pay for one or go somewhere else.

I just can't miss work for 2-3 days to fix one minor problem or have a service done. Just can't be done. I'm on my 3rd 20K service this Friday.
