Default Eek. Here's another question for you if you don't mind.

I looked in the FAQ and didn't see anything on replacing front axles. Is that not something I should attempt on my own or is it just that no one has done it? My CV Boots have been torn for some time now (no popping or clicking yet) and I was considering replacing the axles if they were do-able by myself (shop wants ~$400 per side in labor alone to replace them). If not, I'll try to just replace the CV boots and see how that goes. Thoughts?

Yes, for the CV Boot, right? Or at that point can you just pull the axle out and put a new one in?

Default Use old schools for the outer hub separation and tom's step 2 for the inner...>

The result should be a shaft in your hand..

Default Springs control ride height. Dampers (shox/strutz) merely control response.

If a spring mount has shifted or come loose, that is another problem.

115K on same combo. Rides fine, but lately it clunks like crazy in reverse... Can't figure that out.

Default check the subframe bolts>>>

your droplinks..and lube up the sway bars...mine stopped clunking after the Defcons went in...very possible the clunk is also related to the rear bushing on the front control arm...
