Don't really see any logic behind a front plate to begin with. If one or two states don't care about it then why should all of the others? -Doug

Too bad California doesn't have a representative government - you could work to change the law.

I've never had a front plate since an '86 RX7. The only ticket I got was when I backed into a parking space at a lot and they couldn't see the rear plate.

...you can get a second insert, drill it to fit A LICENSE plate, and swap that law abiding plate in when you don't want to get pissed off, say when parking at LAX.

.. go down the street and write up ticket after ticket to parallel parked cars on the street for no front plate near my girlfriend's apartment. It seems like they do it once a month or so. I was cited once.

I cannot believe that parking enforcement would specifically go down streets looking for and citing no front plate violations. These are on days without street cleaning, so they really don't have much incentive to come down the street.
