I know how you feel. I have MK1 sitting in my garage but I might not be putting them on if Sheryl takes the TT (if she gets good job she will) so I also have to wait (sigh)

Just need a little metal saw to get the rear bushings out of the arms. And a big socket + long bolt/washer/nut to get the front bushings out.
The fronts press in very easily, the rears are a bit tougher, but with some custom made metal/wood sheets with 1" hole in it it works pretty nicely..
We did the replacement with OEM bushings ourselves and it didn't take that long..
