Damn Kids!!!
Last night on my way home, a teenager in a civic almost destroyed the entire drivers side of my TT in an attempt to show off his car. I was stopped at a red light in the right lane of a 2-lane road, and heard the obnoxious sound of a fart can a car behind me in the left lane. As the light turned green, I started accelerating and then heard that dreaded NOS whine. I knew that the road I was on was about to merge into a single lane, but he apparently didn't (or didn't care). If I hadn't slammed my brakes on, he would've wiped out my entire side. After realizing his 'error', he pulled over to the shoulder and sheepishly waved. I wanted to rip him a new one, but took a few deep breaths and drove on. I really, really wanted to call the cops on this bugger, but didn't. It was late and I wanted to get home.

I got my driver's license in the 1960s, and have
watched an evolution of cars becoming increasingly more capable in terms of high speed performance, and drivers becoming increasingly incapable of using their cars' capabilites in a rational, responsible manner; it's getting crazy out there, and good for you for averting a dangerous situation!

he realized his error. Consider yourself lucky he "apologized"... living in boston, I have never seen an "apology"... from young or old.

Yep, anytime I see the Rice, SS, 70's car in the right lane that ends...
I know 2 things are going to happen:
1. The little A$$hole in the right is going to floor it and try to get in line in front of me before his stretch of road runs out.
2. I **** off my wife for flooring it and not letting the SOB in.
This is the wrong place to race. If I let him in, he will continue to do it. If I do not let him in, I hope he learns a lesson.
Is it immature on my part to act this way. Probably so! I would never do this in the Passat wagon though.
In the end, what's the point. I need a psycholosist to tell me what's up and why. But I really don't care.
