Default To the dealer at 9am.

So, I'm dropping my car off at Audi here in KC for a clutch job and the 40k mile service. Along with a few odds and ends I'm not quite sure about doing myself.

Not excited to get the bill, I change the oil myself, as well as the cabin filter... so all that's left is the Haldex service.

How much does that run?

I was quoted somewhere around 1100-1400 for the clutch job and I wanted to know what the damage was for the haldex service, I'm guessing its about the cost of an oil change?!?

The only other thing I'm going to have them do is figure out why when I turn my AC on my car vibrates and rattles from the engine bay...

Also at idle I'm having a vibration problem sounds like metal pinging against something under the car, I'm thinking its a heatshield, hopefully they will just retorque the bolts for me, I'm sure that's at least a 50 dollar job...

Wish me luck guys... hopefully I come out of there problem free. I'm crossing my fingers.

Also, while you're at it, check out a little college video project I'm working on...

Excuse the odd formating, I formated it in widescreen and I uploaded it before I checked to see how it looked.

Default Prepare to lube up....

I hate dealer service visits like that. Too many unknowns that allow them to go wild with diagnosis fee's and the next thing you know you're paying $500+ to have your Haldex fluid changed, a few bolts tightened and a whole lot of "Could not duplicate the problem" excuses.

Hope your experience is better and I'm just bitter.

Default Don't have them do the Haldex!!!

they probably won't do it anyway and still charge you for it. We can do the job in 1 hour in my driveway. I wish you luck on everything else, my experiences with their service technicians have been, well, disappointing to say the least.
