Strangely, after replacing the battery, my VDO boost gauge now peaks out at ~23-24psi...with the old battery, I peaked at about 21-22psi. Why??? I did a TB adaptation when I switched back to APR93 from stock, so maybe that would explain it....nothing else has been changed.

I had A LOT more boost/power after I changed out a completely dead battery. (left the lights on at airport)
I attributed it to the ECU "learning" the right settings again. I think it resets to all the knock, boost, and mix settings to very high levels and then dumbs them down to acceptable levels for knock and reliability.
I could be wrong though...but that seemed to make sense to me.

...your prior adaptation limited the boost to 22 psi...over time that boost ceiling may be the stasis after adaptation.
