Dealing with high iron water (a washing question)
I've just moved into a house served by well water. The "outside line" untreated water has an extremely high iron content (the house isn't supposed to be orange) and from the smell, a fair bit of sufur as well. I've been warned off of washing the car with this water - even without drying, the water will leave deposits of iron on the surface.
Is there a solution to this problem I'm overlooking, or an in-line device that can remove some of the iron before the water hits the car? There's a car wash stall a couple of miles away that I'd like to avoid. (You can only buy tokens $5.00 at a time...but the car wash charges $3.00 per six-minute wash!)
I decided this forum would be a great place to check for answers since the detailing knowledge here runs to what one might consider the esoteric.

We use one of these on our well water -- works well -- HomeDepot has something similar.
