was the TSB for an electrical problem? I wonder because im not sure if the buzzing is caused by something electrical, mechanical or if its just a buzz like a rattle which usually has no real solution. thx!

"Condition: Instrument Cluster whistling/buzzing noise can be heard if instrument lights are not set on maximum illumination. [cracking up as we discovered this about a year before this TSB] May be caused due to the dimming signal which mechanically stimulates electronic components in the instrument cluster."
So, turn your instrument lights way down and see if you get the buzz!!

2000 FWD, they were on whether the headlights were on of off. In my new car, the instrument lights don't come on unless the headlights are on. Try it a few ways and see what happens.
The cure for 2000 MY vehicles is to replace instrument cluster a new cluster using updated software version D09 and for 2001 MY vehicles to replaced instrument cluster with a new cluster using updated software version D55.
