Default I got tired of cleaning them... what with melting snow and trail dust, I found

that the addition of the spoiler aggravated the problem of gunk accululation on the rear. Repeated cleaning with cotton swabs, where the rings intersect, was bound to deteriorate the paint... easier to clean now. Besides, lake silver w/o rings is just about the fastest ever.

Did you use dental floss to de-badge the rings?

Default Yes, sprinkled liberally with "Goof Off" to soften adheasive, then

"sawed" with dental floss. That part was easy, took about 5 minutes. Took another hour with Goof Off, cotten *****, and hair dryer to remove adheasive from hatch lid. However, when all fini, there is no indication that anything was ever there.
