This is what I did back in 2005... i used an alpine headunit with XM and the alpine ipod interface.

I use the Soundgate adaptor. It gives me 2 auxillary inputs and keeps the CD changer.
I use one for Sirius radio and one for the iPod. It works flawlessly. It comes with a 3-position switch to toggle between CD, aux 1 and aux 2.

I just installed an XcarLink adapter
and it works great.
I have the concert II but I just searched '00 and it seems like they have an adapter that will work. Do you have a CD changer?
