Default Did anyone have any thoughts and/or comments about this finding from this weekend?....

If you'll recall, this is what I shook out of my passenger side-mount intercooler.......a penny, two broken sheet metal screws and a piece of plastic hose barb.......

In my opinion, it's not likely all these things made it in there accidentally...but why would someone do it intentionally?

This car was in the shop EXTENSIVELY in the first year and a half of ownership including two turbo replacements.....could it be related?

what killed your turbos? Other than the penny, those look like they went through a blender

Hose clamp screw? Plastic piece once fiit into turbo intake hose? I'd hold onto that lucky penny.

Default The screw looks like it destroyed a compressor-side at one time....

The penny and barbed connector look like they probably fell in the (carelessly unplugged) intake hose when it was disconnected from the charge pipe, thus never came in contact with anything but the intercooler.

Default was the airbox modded before the 1st turbo blew out? It really seems weird to find chumped up debri

which is fortunately filtered by the IC before it get's into the engine.

But obviously this means that your MAF and airbox need to have been tampered with to let that stuff through.

Might not be a bad idea to check the inlet of the turbo for damage.
