Discobarbie's post below reminds me of a book I'm currently reading called....
..."Wicked - The Life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West". It's a fantasy based loosly upon the Wizard of Oz. It's essentially an alegory that revolves around birth, life and death of the WWW, who's name is Elphaba, her sister called Nesarose (WWE) and Galinda, who ultimately becomes the good witch of the north. There is a political struggle evolving in Oz and there is a hell of a lot more to the story of the relationship between the characters in the story than you ever learn in the Wizard of Oz. Poor Dorothy really dropped into a hornet's nest! A good read so far and I'd recommend it.

but that book sounds so damn good, my attention was drawn away from her.
