Default Many things can change the necessary ingredients... (more)

such as air temperature, driving style, break-in periods, altitude, part wear, etc...

Many factors play a part in this - but the end result is not a failed DV,... just an annoying one.

I feel for you on the three-hour drive. I just did a 1 1/2 and that was bad enough!

Default I am only gonna say this once. "Your car is broken." Make the three hour trip. :)

It sux, but you knew how far service was when you bought the car.

The 225C that I drove kicked me back in the seat when I punched it. There was noticeable turbo lag, but I think turbo lag is fun. Kinda like Mr. Scott punching the warp drive to 10 suddenly. A slight hesitation, then BLAM! the starfield changes.

Good luck.

No offense, BUT ... you obviously do not speak from experience.

I bought my car in Seattle, then moved here. I didn't know before hand that service would be so far away. In fact, when I found out I was moving, I was assured that the VW dealership here would at least be able to change my oil. NO SUCH LUCK!

Default WRONG! It sure can...

My car surged and honked and was down right pathetic until I changed the DV valve. Even the dealer who worked on the car sighed and agreed with me but at the time, the local rep made him put it back in (vs the Bailey which I took home and put back in later).

Default Experience?

Exactly what experience is that? I've diagnosed and fixed hundreds and hundreds of cars of all degrees of problems - none of them Audis,... so I guess my experience differs.... but,.... I subscribe to the theory of facts - not guesswork or strict empirical information.

My DV is working fine - perhaps I'm just lucky. I'm not sure having a bad DV valve would necessarily give me the "experience" to speak any different than I have.

Please refer to my above posts that are dealing with this subject more in depth - thanks!

Already did; see my responses. You obviously are not speaking from first hand experience.
