My ongoing saga with a sway replacement that as messed up my handling continues...turns out that there is an issue with front toe on my car. The dealer has requested that I get a set of new tires so they can properly do an alignment? Will new tires make alignment easier to do?
My tires were in pretty good condition prior to bringing them in 2 months ago, and have since been wearing on the front outer and rear inner edges rather abnormally. My summer tires have @ 9000 miles on them over 4 years, with no autocrossing on them.
Thanks in advance...Diz

Positive camber will wear out the outer edges and neg camber will wear the inner. Negative camber is when the bottom edge of the tire is out further than the upper and vice versa for positive. Negative camber wear seems to be normal for the TT in the rear and just gets worse when you lower it, hence the camber correction kits.
Toe is the relationship of the front and rear edges of the tire to each other. Toe in is where the tires point inward, kinda like if you were pigeon-toes. Toe out is where the tires 'splay' outward. Either of these situations would not cause the kind of wear that you are seeing, it would cause tread block feathering.
Tires _mostly_ have nothing to do with the alignment because the alignment machine's sensors mount to your wheel. They measure the relationship of the wheels to each other AND to the ground, so if you have some seriously messed up tires, I could see it throwing some part of the alignment out of whack.

also found this

and will spring for new tires...they are not bald, but they have little life left, so hopefully that and a good alignment will solve the problem....many thanks.
