Default do you have to balance your tires each time you switch them?

i'm thinking about making a trip to sears to get the equipment i need to change my own tires each season (upstate NY berkshire foothills... winters essential for survival).

my question is do i need to have them balanced each time i switch them? and if so, does it matter if i change them myself then take them in to get balanced?

Default No, unless your steeling wheel is shaking, then you've to re-balance them...

besides, don't switch by random, I only switch tires on the same side.

Default Dumb question- are you switching wheel/tire units or using same wheels with different tires?

If you have summer and winter wheels with the respective tires you are probsbly fine. If you are switching tires on wheels then a rebalance is called for.

Default thanks... i think i'll switch and take the wait and see approach...

if i run into any issues, i'll take em in and get them balanced.
